About

Screenshot Capture is a small, fast tool to take screenshots and save them with a proper name, straight into your folder. No pasting into Paint, no renaming files later.

I made it for my own classes and tutorials, where I take many screenshots every day.

Main features

  • Type a name and click once — the screenshot is saved with that name
  • Timer (delayed capture) — set a delay of a few seconds, then open the menu, pop-up or window you want. The screenshot is taken when the timer ends.
  • Remembers your save folder, so you choose it only once
  • Works with more than one monitor — pick the screen you want
  • Small, compact window that stays out of your way
  • Light and fast — opens in seconds
  • Free, no sign-up, no ads

When is the timer useful?

  • To capture a drop-down menu or right-click menu that closes when you click elsewhere
  • To capture a tooltip or hover effect
  • To get time to switch to another window before the capture
  • To hide the Screenshot Capture window from the picture

Who is it for?

  • Teachers making notes and slides
  • Students saving lecture screens
  • Writers of tutorials and documentation
  • Anyone who takes many screenshots

How to use

  1. Choose your save folder (only the first time).
  2. Pick the screen, if you have more than one monitor.
  3. Type a file name.
  4. Click Capture — or set the timer first, then get your screen ready.

How to install

  1. Click the Download button.
  2. Check the SHA-256 checksum (steps are on this page).
  3. Run the file and follow the steps.
  4. Open Screenshot Capture and start capturing.

Note: Windows may show "Windows protected your PC" because the app is new and not signed. Click More info → Run anyway.
